Performance-Based Pay Programs

Successful pay for performance programs work when organizational goals are drivers to motivate individual and/or group accomplishments. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did exactly that when they signed then 42 year-old Tom Brady to a 2-year contract in March 2020. With their run to the big game this Sunday, Brady has already earned $3.6M in incentives and, depending on the outcome of the game, could increase that to over $5.8M, which is roughly 40% of his base salary.
